Mudfest ’10

For some reason, the Monkey Cross cyclocross series in Santa Rosa is known for mud. Monkey cross #2 showed us all what that really means. Mudfest, or whatever you’d prefer to call it, was a little bit muddy:

Just one fine mud pit, just meant for spectating

This must be the most challenging race I’ve ever rode in. So much mud made handling skills important. A big engine was required to spin through the mud. Getting stalled in the mud made for lots of running. Did I mention the mud? I did fall off my bike in about 10 different ways, but no endos, so we’ll call it progress (lots of others did endo, most popularly in the above location). At the end of the day, even being a spectator was muddy:
